Our Visit to the Prairie by Rachel Ashwell
On a recent trip to Round Top we were guests of The Prairie. And we couldn’t have been more thankful. While this trip was in the fall, Texas heat, along with extreme humidity made shopping almost unbearable! So time spent in the mid 1800’s prairie farmhouse updated with modern amenities like A/C was a dream.
This was our first stay at The Prairie but somehow it felt like home. Rachel Ashwell has a way of creating spaces that are both comfortable and elegant. The beds complete with her linens are like sleeping on clouds. And the grounds covered in fields and flowers make The Prairie a peaceful retreat. We loved the three days we spent taking in the scenery between short trips to treasure hunt in the crazy heat. We were treated to the yummiest breakfast. Our Farmhouse Baby Presley loved it too! We met some of the friendliest people who run the B&B, and can’t wait to go back in the spring. The photos below are our tour of The Prairie by Rachel Ashwell.
