100 Year Old Home Cozy Christmas Tour – Rockwall Holiday Home Tour

We’re so excited to be sharing another Christmas home tour with you from the Rockwall Holiday home tour! Vicky Duncan owns this cozy home and has been a friend for many years. She’s so talented when it comes to design and you’ll see sentiment and story in every single room.

PATIO

The wrap around, farmhouse front porch is a throw back to a simpler time. And this welcoming space is more the just for show. The homeowners enjoys sitting on the porch and watching the cars of the little town square pass by their home.

There’s also a cozy back porch to curl up and read a book. You can also take in the view of the big back yard and fireplace. The charm doesn’t end there!

LIVING ROOM

Step inside to the warmest, sweetest open family room. Traditional red and green are not just here for Christmas. There are pops of these colors used in every day as well. The home has many original elements, like the floors and the shiplap. The stairwell is the perfect backdrop for Christmas stockings. But it’s fun to see there are stockings in unconventional places everywhere.

Homeowner, Vicky Duncan, has an eye for detail and out of the box design. She recently purchased the home and has plans to add a fireplace. Until then a faux fireplace warms the family room and is beautifully decorated for Christmas!

Little collections and vignettes drawer you in, especially the gallery wall in the hallway to the dining room. These well loved pieces were collected over time.

BREAKFAST NOOK

Just off the family room is a dining nook which was originally part of the porch. But the green bead-board ceiling brings in so much character! Again, the table is so welcoming. Every room inside and out calls you to slow down, sit and stay awhile!

KITCHEN

Peek past a stain glassed window suspended over the peninsula into the sweetest kitchen! Again the kitchen is filled with so much character and charm! A fun fact is that Vicky decided to remove the door of a cabinet to reveal original bead-boar, which she painted a stunning green the day before the tour of homes.

The island was a housewarming gift from her son. A little birdie told him she spotted it at a local antique store and he promptly had it delivered. It’s looks like it had been there all along. So many pieces in this home have a special story!

DINING ROOM

The formal dining space has a built in glass cabinet filled with dishes and treasures. More dishes fill the antique hutch! The table is simply decorated with etched glass vessels. Again, little collections are sweetly displayed throughout!

LAUNDRY ROOM

There’s a room between the dining room and kitchen that appears to be a butlers pantry. Upon further look, hidden behind curtains are the washer and dryer. So many good ideas to create a room that is beautiful and functional.

PRIMARY BEDROOM

The primary bedroom has the feel of a cozy lodge with the warm wood shiplap and red and green Christmas bedding. One thing you’ll notice is that every room in the home has a little a bit of Christmas and whole lot of cheer!

UPSTAIRS

The secondary bedrooms are all upstairs. The shiplap and the homey feel continue in these rooms! My favorite might be the dog themed bedroom. Enter through the sweetest arched door and whimsical dog decor and art are everywhere!

The next rooms have a secret passthrough between them. If I were a kid I think I’d live in the secret little nook. It’s filled with little furniture and decorated perfectly too! These rooms are warm and filled with style and charm. This home has so much to see— all the original character from 100 years ago, met with Vicky’s collected pieces make this the sweetest home tour!
