Nature Inspired Christmas Home Tour

We are FINALLY sharing mom’s Christmas home tour. This is the first year we’ve ever shared her last, but now I think it might be fun to have her the grand finale! She did a nature inspired Christmas this year that’s completely different than anything she’s done in years past. After you view this year scroll down and you’ll see all the Christmas tours we’ve ever shared at mom’s to compare.

LIVING ROOM

We used mom’s Christmas tree at the Carriage House for the McKinney Holiday Tour of Homes and so we purchased a very budget friendly tree from Hobby Lobby. Mom wanted to elevate it so she created this really fun nature inspired look with branches, dried hydrangeas. pine cones and even magnolia tree clippings. You’ll see a few ornaments but it’s mostly made out of things from outside.

Her garland also has a very organic look with dried hydrangeas layered in. We had one subscriber ask for a DIY on this but we literally just placed them on top and stuffed so the video would be no more than 30 seconds. Maybe next year we’ll do a decorate with us video and we’ll show the process.

Mom was going this direction with her Christmas design but when we went to Stephanie of @BloomingIvyLane to tour her Christmas home her choices really affirmed mom’s ideas and also made me believe in the direction she was going.

BREAKFAST NOOK

In the breakfast nook you’ll see a fresh arrangement on the table with winter cabbage. She layered wreaths on the window and a simple garland on top. Across from the table she has a dresser turned buffet with her nativity on top.

KITCHEN

She kept it simple in the kitchen using lots of greenery with wreaths and fresh clipping layered on different pieces. A fresh cutting of evergreen keep turn anything festive. She also decorated with food like the cake she has styled on her island that we ate that night, but it was pretty while it lasted!

DINING ROOM

This is the first time in a long time that this table has been styled without the blue plates we typically used. Mom used her typical dishes in the cottage house so she grabbed some fun plates with words written on them like joy, noel and peace.

She grabbed $1 roses from Central Market which you can grab every Tuesday! She mixed them into an arrangement with oranges in the water.

I hope you enjoyed mom’s Christmas home tour. This is now our fifth year sharing this home for Christmas so it’s a lot of fun to see it styled in different ways. Below I’ve linked every year before if you’d like to compare. We love to hear from you so be sure to leave a comment. If you want more Christmas home tours we toured many of our friends homes and you can see them all here.
