The Vale House Home Tour

It’s the time of the month where we bring you along for another local home tour! We love touring DFW local homes selfishly for our own inspiration, but of course to share with our amazing community. This month we’re sharing Amber of The Vale House.

Amber is a children’s ministry director who is clearly multifaceted with an eye for design. Amber and her husband built their dream home with every detail in mind. Not only did they make amazing choices, but she had the home completely decorated in 4 months. I’ve been in my home for going on two years and I’m beyond impressed with how quickly she did this!

Amber’s kitchen was one of my favorites! The tile was so bold and soft at the same time. It’s perfectly distressed making the daring pattern more muted. This tile is from Home Depot which surprised me as well. The big box stores don’t always have the same options, but Amber shows the Home Depot is a great source.

She shared how the tile reminds her of her grandmother which was so inspiring. If you’re having trouble making design decisions get nostalgic and think about things that meant a lot to you growing up. Also if you’re having trouble finding tile for your kitchen choose this one!

You can tell Amber is amazing at shopping old and new. The table above is actually from the vendor mall we have a booth in—The Rustic Warehouse. She also loves to treasure hunt at East Fork Mall which we ventured to right after the tour.

SHOP THE LOOK

Amber’s living room shows how you can mix masculine and feminine. The mix of texture and light fabrics softens the leather in the space. Also, can we talk about how great the deer head on the fireplace looks?! Not many pull this off well, but Amber has not one but THREE deer heads mounted to her walls. Scroll down to see how well she pulls it off in the dining room as well.

P.S. I’m pretty sure she said the one mounted on the fireplace was named Larry 😂

“MAMA CUT OUT PICTURES OF HOUSES FOR YEARS FROM BETTER HOMES & GARDEN MAGAZINES. PLANS WERE DRAWN AND CONCRETE POURED. AND NAIL BY NAIL. AND BOARD BY BOARD DADDY GAVE LIFE TO MOMMA’S DREAM.”

See what I’m saying about those deer heads?! And styled with those layered vintage mirrors! I just love it.

Amber’s dining table seats 14 comfortably and when the guests overflow she can open the french doors to the outside and make more room. In the video you’ll see how we chatted about her choice to do 3 french doors rather than the folding doors that are so trendy right now. I think this was the perfect decision.

The beautiful doors leading into the master were the first purchase made for their home. They found these beauties in Round Top, TX and man do they make a statement. I love vintage/antique mixed with new. It’s truly a gift to be able to add such character to a new home.

The master is another place where Amber mixed masculine and feminine so well together. A little glam from the headboard and rustic with the leather sofa at the end of the bed, it’s a mix of so many different styles perfectly blended.

Lastly, let’s talk about the exterior of her home! Amber if I’m randomly sitting on your porch drinking a cup of coffee don’t be weirded out…It’s just such a dream I might not be able to help myself!

I hope this blog post inspires you to create a space unique to you and your family! Thank you Amber for sharing your gorgeous home with us and letting us get to know you. 1. It looks like floor plan 51773hz on Architectural Designs. It’s a beautiful plan, however I believe this home was modified to accommodate for the large dining space. All of the “hz” plans are wonderful!!
