My Little White Barn Christmas Home Tour

Mom and I were pretty disappointed when we learned that the local home tours that we look forward to every year around Christmas were canceled. So rather than letting 2020 disappoint us again, we decided to create virtual Christmas Home Tours for us all to enjoy. Every day this week you’ll see a new home up on the blog and you are going to LOVE every single one. Each tour will include video AND photos for you to take in all the inspiration to the fullest extent.

Next up on this series is our friend Shannon of @MyLittleWhiteBarn_. Shannon has an amazing ranch style fixer-upper that we’ve toured on the blog in the past. Now I’m excited for you to see a new spin on a home you already love.

FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS LIVING ROOM

Shannon’s home is an open concept so right when you enter you get a glimmer of all the main spaces. She has so many perfectly styled vignettes that you have to take time to take everything in. My eye was drawn to so many things, but I want to start with her fireplace and mantle. You can never go wrong with a draping garland, bells, and simple stockings. This look is so inspiring but classic!

Something else I wanted to highlight was how she dressed up her mirrors for the holidays. It looks like she used a chalk marker with perfect handwriting, but really she used her cricket to print the words from contact paper that she got from the Dollar Store. I love this because you can use your everyday decor and get festive in a very practical way. I’m a huge fan of practical seasonal updates like this.

Another thing that Shannon does so well is build collections. If you look through her home you’ll see collections of ginger bread houses, nut crackers, seasonal dishes and more. She places them all together in very intentional vingettes that quickly catch you eye and make you want to run to the thrift store or an antique store to treasure hunt. In on of the other home tours in this series, you’ll Michele of Vintage Home does this really well also.

Shannon’s Christmas tree is right in the middle of her entry, living and dining room which is so fun because every room gets to experience it. She’s decorated it with classic ornaments and ribbons. I love the gold and green. She propped her gifts up on baskets and sleighs.

FARMHOUSE DINING ROOM

Shannon kept her table simply since all her kids are home for the holidays. It’s fun to create fun tablescapes for different seasons, but sometimes simple is better for functional time as a family. This table will be used for dinners, puzzles, gingerbread house decorating, and more.

FARMHOUSE KITCHEN

I love Shannon’s kitchen. It’s classic white with farmhouse elements like the shiplap ceiling and shaker style doors. She decorated her island gingerbread houses and dishes. She shared that her favorite thing here is the red mixer that she brings out during the holidays. It’s special to her since her mom purchased it for her as a gift and she passed away earlier this year. I love the sentiment along with the pop of color.

FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS BEDROOM

Shannon’s bedroom is perfectly decorated for the season with small touches that can last through winter. I love the wreath on her headboard and the simple trees on her dresser.

FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS OFFICE

I love this room off her living room. We all need office inspiration these days. In other tours Shannon has shared how much she loves these barn doors she found in McKinney, TX.

FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS EXTERIOR

The last space we’re highlighting for Shannon’s home is her front porch. From her swing to the trees and signage, it is like a winter wonderland when you walk to her door. Luckily we’re in Texas so there’s many days Shannon and her family can enjoy this gorgeous porch.

I hope Shannon’s home tour brought you as much joy as it brought me. Her collections inspired me to treasure hunt through 2021 to find beautiful. Make sure to give Shannon a follow on Instagram at @MyLittleWhiteBarn_. Also, linked below are the other two home tours that have been released in this series. You will not want to miss them.
