Mckinney Farmhouse Home Tour

We are so excited to share another home tour with you today! This stunning Mckinney home was fully renovated by owner Angie who shares this home, her travels, and daily musings on Instagram at @MyMckinneyFarmhouse. This home is full of antique finds that are thoughtfully placed to create a home full of character and creative inspiration you have never seen anywhere else. I can’t wait for you to see!

ENTRY

This cozy, earthy, inviting home had us at the entry! The vintage clock in direct sight of the entrance is stunning hanging above a vintage piano! Grand bubble lights draw your eye up! The stairwell gallery wall makes a huge statement. And the stair spindles are truly a work of art! Some people add character but these spaces are character overload.

FAMILY ROOM

Also in view of the entry is the family room. The nest chandelier brings in nature and perfectly compliments the warm wood ceilings and floors. The freestanding brick fireplace in the rooms gives separation between the entrance and the family room, but every room flows seamlessly into the next. Comfy linen sofas and chairs make you want to sit down and stay awhile!

One thing you will not find in this home is a mass-produced accent. Each piece is a found treasure. Many of the pieces come from semi-annual trips to Round Top, Texas, one of the largest flea markets around. Vendors come from all over the world! Angie and her husband travel extensively and will bring back pieces from exotic lands.

DINING

There is no shortage of books! Angie’s love of reading and books is evident. The library wall is filled to overflowing! And it truly appears as a work of art! Alongside the wall of books is the family dining.

Originally Angie thought she would use a rectangular table. She imagined it might look too redundant adjacent to the kitchen island. So she used an old iron pane as a room divider. When all was said and done she ended up using a round table. But this partition may be one of the best design features in the home. It makes the perfect backdrop to the stone pendant lights that are stunning! They are various shapes and sizes with variations in color and veining that intensify as the light pours through!

The dining room is in view of the garden with a simple elegant pool of water alongside a massive oak tree. The tree was the reason Angie bought the home. The large windows bring the outdoors in and at some point we’ll have to come back for a tour of the exterior of this gorgeous home!

KITCHEN

On to the pièce de résistance, just past the dining is a kitchen that transports you to another place and time. The simple sophisticated back wall where the incredible French range is center stage draws you in. Zellige tile covers the wall mid-way to the vent with a charming reclaimed wood beam that runs the full length of the space!

An antique farm table serves as an island. Another vintage find along the wall creates more storage. Hung above the piece is a chalkboard with lyrics that speak of peace. The irony of the collection of old knives hanging on the board went unnoticed until some time later when Angie observed their juxtaposition! We noticed straight away and it made us laugh!

There is so much attention to detail! Again, the pendant lights are beautiful, they are vintage and came from a surgical room. They are perfect for the space. The concrete countertops work so well here. The open shelving with earthy white stoneware gives the feel of an old farmstead where family would gather to prepare a mean after a long day! This kitchen is dreamy whether from another time or this modern day!

PRIMARY BEDROOM

Organic Belgium linens and white walls! This primary bedroom is everything. An elegant chandelier is a statement and the focal point. And the wall in front of the bed has an ultra soft beautifully stenciled prayer. Imagine waking up to this view every morning!

PRIMARY BATH

The bath is so lovely. White subway tile all the way to the ceiling was a happy accident. They had enough tile so they kept going up! All the doors in the home are vintage and collected from Roundtop! The floors were sourced from a tear-down home. But a fresh sand and a uniform stain brings them all together throughout the home! Some people might not be able to live with a floating concrete counter and no lower storage but Angie learned to live and love the simpler way of life! There is so much to see with everyday items in plain view. And it’s simply beautiful!

I hope this tour inspired you as much as it inspired us. We’d love to hear from you in the comments. Share your thoughts and what inspired you most about this stunning home!
