As we’ve been picking the paint color for the brick on the Skyline Project, I’ve become obsessed with inspiration for home exteriors. I’ve been pinning like a mad woman and researching paint colors and techniques. We decided to use Romabio paint products and we let our community vote on the color (because they were all amazing & I couldn’t decide).
LEARN TO PAINT A HOME EXTERIOR THE EASY
You chose Bianco White and below is a little preview of what our coral ranch home looks like with a coat of limewash! We have shared the entire process of painting the house on the blog and the tips we have! If you’re not ready to learn about the process but need some inspiration today I’m sharing my favorite home exteriors. I’ve found homes big and small that have that modern farmhouse flair that has us 😍😍😍!
I want to note how hard it is to find home exterior inspiration. I feel like I’m constantly finding gorgeous interior pictures, but not many people share their exteriors so I have hunted like crazy!
1. TWO TONED MODERN FARMHOUSE
This house is what kicked off the inspiration! You all went WILD for this home on Instagram and understandably so. It’s so unique and just gorgeous. I love the white siding paired with the cool gray. And you can never go wrong with black framed windows. The house was built by Hayes Barton Homes, designed by Frazier Home Design and photographed by Cat Nguyen.
2. WARM NEW BUILD MODERN FARMHOUSE
I love the warm wood tones paired with the white siding and again black framed windows. Oh, and let’s talk about that balcony. I’d love to have a place like this to gather with friends for a glass of wine. Even better if it had a nice lake view. A girl can dream 🤷🏻♀️I’d love to see the interior of this home.
3. EUROPEAN STYLE PAINTED BRICK
I love the old European vibe the painted brick gives this home. This home shows that this trend can be timeless. I’m also loving the exterior lighting used here.
4. MODERN TUDOR BY WILLOW HOMES
This fresh update on Tudor uses one of our favorite combos–white painted brick with a wood shake roof. Add black frame windows and this feels house current but beautifully timeless.
5. PERCH PLANS AUSTIN FARMHOUSE
This home is from our friends at Perch Plans! We took a tour of this gorgeous home on the blog recently if you’d like to take a peak inside. They hadn’t finished landscaping yet, but she’s still stunning! I love a metal roof. I’d love to have one someday.
6. STUNNING SUITED HOMES DESIGN
This home hits every modern farmhouse exterior trend out currently. From the dark roof and black framed windows to the white and black exterior. Although it is modern, it’s still inviting and has me wanting to hang out on the porch to catch up with a neighbor.
7. LAUREN CROUCH GEORGIA FARMHOUSE
This farmhouse exterior designed by Lauren Crouch is featured on Country Living as one of the ‘pretties farmhouses they’ve ever seen’ and we totally agree. This new build has so much character and has us inspired to treasure hunt for vintage furniture and accessories.
8. PAINTED WHITE BUNGALOW
The door. The window boxes. The shutters. Everything is so classic and so stunning. I’m seriously in love with the door numbers. The gold contrasting on the black is just perfect.
9. BLOOMING IVY LANE BACK PORCH
I’m in love with the exterior of this modern farmhouse is Sherwin Williams Dover White. You can tour this entire home on the blog here. You won’t be sorry you wandered off that way.
10. MODERN COTTAGE FARMHOUSE
This is another exterior that we were super inspired by during one of our local home tours that the Farmhouse Living team goes on in the DFW. This is Michele of Vintage Home Designs’ home and every detail is stunning. I love the whimsy in her cottage landscaping. You can take the full tour here.
