Lakehouse Home Tour with Cavie Interiors

Welcome to a lakeside sanctuary designed by Cavie Interiors that effortlessly blends modern farmhouse charm with a serene retreat for family and friends.

From the moment you step through the front door, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking lake views and thoughtfully curated interiors that invite relaxation and togetherness. Even if you’re not looking for lake house inspiration the choices made by the design team will have you ready to launch into your next home project.

I’ve rounded up look a like shopping links at the end of this post for your convenience. Disclosure: affiliate links are used in this post

LIVING ROOM

You enter the front door to a beautifully designed living room with wide open lake views! The moody vibe from Farrow and Ball Downpipe covering the fireplace wall is everything. The bookshelves are topped with picture lights and these are the touches that take it to the next level.

The furnishings are simple and comfy with a leather sofa and cozy club chairs. Warm textiles in rugs and pillows complete the space. And the overall feel is restful and well designed.

BUNKIE ROOM

My personal favorite space is what the homeowners call the bunkie room or house. It’s separate from the main home because its actually the boat house and so it’s on the water.

The peace and tranquility from the sound of the water really make you want to snuggle up in one of the six beds with a good book, or just have a little nap there. Again, the bedding is simple, casual and comfortable. The perfect place for the homeowners kids to retreat with their friends as well.

KITCHEN

The next room on our tour was the kitchen and dining. The kitchen was updated with a zellige style tile that Cave Interiors been using in many of their designs. The cost effective tile looks rich and comes in many colors.

The earthy moody feel of the backsplash is complimented by cabinetry painted Sherwin Williams Pewter Green. The wood barstools pop against the green cabinetry. Speaking of a POP, these Visual Comfort pendants definitely deliver with their radiant warmth shining from within. I’m officially on the lookout for a project to use these in.

There was a vent that was updated by simply constructing a new one and inserting it over the old. The new vent hood was given a plaster finish to tie in with the other finishes. This sweet little bench at the end of the cabinets next to the back door is a great place for putting on your shoes to go outside.

DINING ROOM

The dining room in view of the kitchen looks out on to the beautiful lake views. It’s got plenty of seating with a long farm style table and chairs. The table was custom made by Rachel’s extremely talented husband. The nod to coastal is brought in with rattan pendants and chairs.

THE BAR

Another space separate from the house is a small enclosed bar and lounge off of the kitchen. This way if a rowdier group wants to stay up to sing karaoke all night they won’t disturb anyone who wants to go to bed. The signature margarita machine for “Big Skinny” as they call the homeowner is the star of the bar.

The outdoor space has several little spots for seating and taking in the view. Large porches, a fire pit area and courtyard are complimented by the most incredible landscape. Everywhere you look you are drawn to take a seat and relax by the water.

UPSTAIRS

The home has five bedrooms upstairs. They are not only functional but beautiful and welcoming. Each room is unique and special but cohesive with the next. The Cavie team always start with selecting the rug for the space and built out from there.

The homeowner brought the furniture so it was really just a matter of accessorizing. The day of install is always fun. This project was especially fun because the whole crew came in and stayed in the home together during the process.

Primary Bathroom

The primary retreat is an oasis with soft warm bedding, colors and texture. The primary bath had a teal tile in the shower which Cave complimented by adding a floral wallpaper. This wallpaper made a huge impact. The bathrooms were upgraded with just a few touches like hardware and mirrors.

Primary Bedroom

The home is beautiful and special but the hallways are covered in the reason why. Cavie always includes galleries of family photos. This family has everything they need to make memories in this home for years to come!
