Simple Fall Touches in Shelby’s Home – Fall Home Tour 2022

If you’re late to the fall decorating party don’t feel bad because mom and I are behind as well! We’re excited to be sharing a few last-minute fall touches that are easy and made a big impact this year.

LIVING ROOM

I told you the decor was simple. We literally stuck pumpkins in the fireplace and voilà, fall living room complete! If you’re new here, my fireplace is faux. Mom and I found this mantle at a flea market and decided to have it installed until I could one day install a real one!

Although I know there is no practical use for a faux fireplace it makes my home feel so cozy and is SO FUN to decorate in the fall and during Christmas time. I smashed my finger stacking the pumpkins in the fire place but I think it was worth it. What do you think?

THE KITCHEN

If you saw mom’s fall home tour, you know we like to keep the kitchen pretty simple. We like to keep our countertops clear so we can do what this season is for—HOSTING and AMAZING FOOD! Counter space is gold when it comes to making delicious meals and celebrating with friends and family.

Mom added a layer of stems on top of my cutting board in the stove alcove which added such a cozy fall feeling. Other than that we will really be decorating with food for the rest of the season. You see we have a delicious loaf of pumpkin chocolate chip bread on the counter with some daisies and that is the PERFECT fall look for a kitchen.

PUMPKIN MOCHA LATTE RECIPE

If you watched our video you saw that we were inspired by our chocolate chip pumpkin loaf from Central Market to make a pumpkin spice mocha latte! This latte is made with two syrups mixed together. I make mine with espresso and steamed milk, but it would also be delicious in a cup of brewed coffee (from either a traditional at-home coffee maker or even Keurig) with milk.

PUMPKIN SPICE RECIPE

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup pure pumpkin
  • 14oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Make a simple syrup by putting water and sugar on high heat until the sugar is dissolved. Mix in the remaining ingredients.

MOCHA RECIPE

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • .5 cup cocoa (I use this one)
  • 1 tbs vanilla

Mix water, sugar, and salt in a pot on high heat, bring to a boil then turn off the heat. Add cocoa powder and vanilla, and mix!

Put a little of each syrup in your latte or morning brew and you’ll have a delicious treat that you’ll be craving even after fall is over. Both these syrups need to be refrigerated.
