Early Spring Home Refresh: Simple Ways to Welcome the Season 🌿✨
Spring might not be officially here yet, but we’re getting glimpses of it—especially here in Texas! With the seasons shifting, I wanted to do a mini spring home refresh to lighten things up and add a few simple touches that make a big impact. And trust me, you don’t need to go over the top—just a few fresh florals, a little decluttering, and some small decor swaps can breathe new life into your home.
So, let’s take a little spring home tour, room by room, and I’ll share the easy updates that made my space feel refreshed!

Living Room: A Fresh Start with Simple Swaps
The living room refresh was all about cleaning, decluttering, and adding just a few small changes that make a difference. I swapped out some of my winter pillows for a muted mustard yellow to bring in a warm, golden spring tone. It’s an easy update that still feels cozy but leans toward a brighter season.
I also brought in a little greenery—literally from my yard! The pops of yellow is coming from what’s considered a weed, goldenrod. Cutting a few seasonal stems and placing them in a simple Target vase gave the space just the right touch of life and color. Pro tip: Grocery store flowers are an affordable way to freshen up your home. We like to alternate between that and supporting our local florist.

Living Room Styling Tip:
If your space is feeling stale, try removing a few things before adding anything new. Decluttering first makes room for intentional updates that truly stand out.
Kitchen: Seasonal Touches & A Fun Charcuterie Board
Mom made the cutest charcuterie board with pops of pink, making it perfect for Valentine’s Day but still subtle enough to work as a general spring refresh. Adding little elements like seasonal fruit, colorful dips (we used beet hummus!), and edible flowers can make everyday meals feel a little more special.
Another easy update? Flipping the pages in my open cookbook. It’s a small styling trick, but it makes a big impact—instantly changing the look and feel of the space without spending a dime!

Kitchen Refresh Tip:
Layer in small, seasonal details—like fresh flowers, open cookbooks, or even a simple bowl of lemons—to give your space a refreshed, curated feel.

Dining Room: Yellow & Blue for a Fresh New Look
The dining room is where I like to start my seasonal decorating, and this time, I played with a yellow and blue color scheme. It’s simple but bold, and I love how these colors complement each other.
I pulled out my navy glassware from Shelby’s baby shower, paired it with blue napkins, and layered in lemons and yellow florals for a bright, cheerful look. The best part? Almost everything was already in my home—I just mixed and matched what I had!

Dining Room Styling Tip:
Stick to a few core colors and layer in seasonal accents like florals or tableware for an effortless refresh.
Patio: Prepping for Warmer Days
Even though we just had an ice storm (Texas weather is wild, y’all), I couldn’t resist starting my outdoor refresh. Warmer days are coming, and I wanted to give the patio a little love by rearranging furniture and planning out my next few updates.
The outdoor sofa took a bit of a beating from the elements, so I moved it to a better spot and started thinking about adding plants and a moss runner to bring more greenery into the space.

Outdoor Styling Tip:
Even if it’s still cold where you live, start planning your outdoor refresh now so you can layer in updates as the weather warms up!
The Easiest Spring Refresh? Flowers & Greenery!
If you take nothing else from this post, remember this: you don’t need to go overboard to refresh your home for spring! Sometimes, a few small swaps—like a new pillow, a fresh floral arrangement, or a decluttered shelf—are all you need.
And if you’re on a budget? Cut stems from your yard, grab a cheap bouquet from the grocery store, or even repurpose dried florals from previous seasons. A little goes a long way!
