At Home Wine & Coffee Bar Reveal + Latte Recipes

Today we’re revealing the before and after of my kitchen where we added a coffee bar along with 3 at home iced coffee drink recipes and a espresso treat! We think you’ll really enjoy!

BEFORE

If you’re a coffee or wine enthusiast you might consider adding a bar to your kitchen. Not only for the function but there are so many beautiful ways to incorporate this in your home! We had a lot of fun designing this coffee bar. When we first purchased the home the cabinet was where the microwave lived and was really distracting from the overall look we were going for. We decided to pull it all out and have our cabinet maker create a cabinet for wine and coffee. So off to the drawing board. With so much love of coffee and wine theres lots of inspiration these days for bars out there. The area was small but it could still pack a punch with simple design.

AFTER

We added some of the coolest elements of all things coffee and wine. The thing that is most special about this bar is the pot filler. Since the water was already plumbed to the refrigerator it was easy and affordable to add a fixture. And it makes the little bar look like it was always there.

The Breville Bambino espresso maker is the perfect fit for the space. It’s an espresso maker for more of a beginner but it does the trick for us. The grinder is a Burr. The bar has shelves and a spot at the top for wine. There’s plenty of room for wine glasses, coffee and espresso cups! You really don’t need much space to add all your favorite things. And you can have a coffee or wine bar area even if you have a simple coffee pot. There are no rules and we pulled inspiration from everywhere, coffee bars big and small!

AT-HOME LATTE RECIPES

Fun fact, mom and I actually own a coffee shop! It’s called the Modern Well and is in our home town Rowlett, Texas. We started it with the dream of seeing our Main Street really thrive. All of these recipes were actually created within our little coffee shop and are community favorites. All these drinks are quick and easy!

LAVENDER LATTE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/4 Cup Lavender Buds
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Shot of Espresso
  • Your Choice of Milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make a simple syrup by boiling 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar.
  2. Once sugar is dissolved turn the heat off and add lavender buds. Let steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Use a strainer and funnel to put syrup in a bottle.
  4. Pour your milk of choice over ice. I add about 10oz of milk. Here we used oat milk.
  5. Add syrup to milk. I add about 1oz but you can add as much as you’d like. It’s really delicious so you might want more.
  6. Add an espresso shot. I pull doubles.

NOTES

You can also make this drink hot simply by steaming the milk. You can also use this syrup in cold brew or regular brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine. I like this cold brew recipe.

HONEY ROSEMARY LATTE

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 Cup Honey
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Two Sprigs of Rosemary
  • 1 Shot of Espresso
  • Your Choice of Milk

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Make syrup by boiling 1 cup of water and 1 cup of honey.
  2. Once honey is dissolved turn the heat off and add rosemary. Let steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Use a strainer and funnel to put syrup in a bottle. I like to add the sprigs of rosemary to the bottle because it’s cute!
  4. Pour your milk of choice over ice. I add about 10oz of milk. Here we used oat milk.
  5. Add syrup to milk. I add about 1oz but you can add as much as you’d like. It’s really delicious so you might want more.
  6. Add an espresso shot. I pull doubles.

COLD BREW WITH SWEET FOAM

INGREDIENTS

  • Cold Brew
  • 1/2 Cup of Your Choice of Milk
  • Vanilla Syrup (Optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put your choice of milk in a french press. I put about 1/4 a cup. Add vanilla syrup if you like it a little sweeter. We make ours at home simply by making a simple syrup and adding vanilla just like we did with the lavender.
  2. Pump the french press repeatedly until it’s thick and creamy.
  3. Pour cold brew over ice and put sweet foam on top.

NOTES

This works with any milk. I used both oat and almond milk and they both got thick and creamy. You could also use lavender, caramel, or whatever your favorite syrup is in this drink.

All these drinks are super simple, delicious and can be modified to your preference. All of them taste good hot and the syrups keep for 1 or 2 weeks!

AFFOGATO

INGREDIENTS

  • Your Choice of Ice Cream
  • 1 Shot of Espresso

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put two scoops of your choice of ice in a cup
  2. Pour a shot of espresso over it

NOTES

This works with so many flavors of ice cream. At the coffee shop we use sea salted caramel but in the video we used vanilla. Both are so delicious.

I hope you enjoyed our coffee bar inspiration and our recipes. We’d love to hear from you in the comments. Do you have a favorite at home coffee recipe? Do you have a coffee bar in your kitchen?
